Milano – Sanremo (Italian) is the first major classic of the new season: La Primavera
This true classic is held on 20th of March 2010 this year, of course the Cipressa and the famous Poggio needs to be taken before traditionally finishing on the Via Roma.
The race is often won by a sprinter that is not necessarily the fastest of the peloton, because of the earlier mentioned Poggio and Cipressa hills, but the sprinter that can hang on certainly have a good chance to win this early season classic.
Will last year winner Mark Cavendish be able to win it back-to-back? The last rider that managed to win it 2 years in a row was Erik Zabel in 2000 and 2001.
